Gram Parsons - Sacred Hearts and Fallen Angels

Gram Parsons es una de esos rockeros malditos de los que se suele oir poco, que con el tiempo ha ido olvidándose su figura poco a poco. Siempre se suele hablar de John Bonham, Kurt Cobain, Keith Moon o Jim Morrison como ejemplos de la máxima "Vive rápido, muere joven y deja un bonito cadáver".
Parsons es otro ejemplo de esa esútpida máxima que ha hecho que tantos grandes se hallan ido. Compañero de chutes de Keith Richards y Mick Jagger durante su época más autodestructiva.
Su afición al LSD le llevaba a desaparecer en el desierto durante varios días en búsqueda de OVNIS y en una de estas excursiones encontró la muerte. Tras dos días desaparecido su cadaver fue encontrado el 19 de septiembre de 1973 con restos de soberdosis de morfina y alcohol.

Su principal aportación al rock es la fusión que realizó entre el country más tradicional con el sonido hippie californiano de los años 60.



En el siguiente box-set está su obra completa incluye sus comienzos con "The International Submarine Band" en la escena folk-rock de Boston, su disco con "The Byrds" ya en LA, sus dos álbumes con "The Flying Burrito Brothers" y sus tres últimos discos, ya en solitario.

El último descubrimiento del mundo cantautoril norteamericano actual. Uno de mis discos favoritos del año pasado. Si te va el folk-rock acústico en la onda de la última etapa de Bright Eyes este LP te va a a encantar.
Es uno de esos discos que te gusta desde la primera escucha, pero sin saber muy bien el porqué. Y una vez que vas entrando poco a poco en él te das cuenta de los cuidadísimos arreglos que tiene y de lo evocadora que es la voz susurrante del zagal.
